“Crimea is my homeland and I lost it.” In her digital collage “The Russians are coming”, Anna Bekerska deals with the loss of her homeland, Crimea. She fills the human voids of this bathing idyll with soldiers. They occupy the space as dystopian figures who, through their mere presence, transform the freedom of this place into a closed, functionless space of arbitrary territorial appropriation and, in perfect contrast to the bathing utensils lying around, point to the absence of freedom.
