The artistic medium of Sabine Hartig (*1982 in CH) is analogue collage. For 10 years now she has been obsessively collecting images from traditional print media and seeking new visual nexuses. To her, this artistic appropriation signifies alienation and preservation simultaneously: “It is fascination with the image in itself that drives me to enter this flow of images and react to it. It is also the attempt to restore value to the historical, archived images by incorporating them into a new whole and hence leading them into contemporaneity.”
