Heidi Almosara explores public spaces and landscapes in order to make art in them. Trained in the art of ikebana, she transfers these Japanese influences to her botanic sculptures. Her sculpture Salt Flat I was created in Wendover, Utah. Out of deadwood and lilies she attempts to connect the unique beauty of nature with the beauty of the surroundings. She documents her sculptures, in order to share with others the fleeting moment of their ephemeral existences in Utah’s sunset light.
