Among other things, Lars Dyrendom’s work, his motifs of a Greenland iceberg positioned on a Danish beach, reflects the relationship between Denmark and Greenland. This relationship has been colonially characterized for more than 300 years and symbolically represents the way we treat our planet. The melting iceberg is made a proxy for the sensitive nexuses contained in any intervention in the natural and cultural fabric. In the meltwater of this finding, Dyrendom succeeds with his work not only in drawing attention to the ecological aspect of climate change, but with his installation he also creates an enticing place for seeing the invisible.
